Aluminium 5052 is a non-heat-treatable aluminium–magnesium alloy that contains about 2.2–2.8% magnesium, along with trace amounts of chromium and other elements. This unique blend offers remarkable corrosion resistance, particularly in marine settings. In terms of mechanical properties, Aluminium 5052 forgings provide moderate to high strength, excellent fatigue resistance, and impressive ductility. The alloy is also known for its good formability, weldability, and impact resistance, making it ideal for forged components that require toughness and long-lasting durability.

Aluminum 5052 offers excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, good weldability, and formability. It's lightweight, durable, resistant to stress cracking, and performs well in marine and industrial environments, making it ideal for custom forgings.
Aluminum 5052 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its relatively low melting point and poor high-temperature strength. Alloys like 7075 or 2011 are better suited for such applications.
Aluminum 5052 has excellent workability, making it suitable for forging. Its low-to-medium strength, good corrosion resistance, and formability allow for ease in shaping, reducing the risk of cracking during forging.
Aluminium 5052 Forgings find extensive use in applications where corrosion resistance, strength, and lightweight performance are crucial. They’re commonly found in marine components, ship fittings, and offshore structures. In the automotive and aerospace sectors, these forgings are utilized for brackets, housings, and structural parts. Additionally, Aluminium 5052 forgings are perfect for pressure vessels, fuel tanks, and industrial equipment, ensuring reliable performance even in corrosive and demanding conditions.
