Rashid Metals, a reliable manufacturer and supplier from Muscat, is among the most well known when it comes to offering high-quality metal products to virtually every customer all over the world. Rashid Metals has established a reputation for accuracy and reliability, including an extremely wide array of products that cover Stainless Steel 17-4PH Forgings which are distinguished by higher strength, superior corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties best. And with that capably, it had found a favorable niche for itself in high-stress applications for aerospace, marine, and chemical processing industries. By using state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and by committing highly trained personnel to the institution’s caring principles, Rashid Metals abides strict quality control and timely delivery benchmarks, which has indeed made it a benchmark in metals industry. Choose Rashid Metals for unrivaled quality and service.
Stainless Steel 17-4PH forgings are martensitic precipitation-hardening steels with 16-17.5% chromium, 3-5% nickel, 3-5% copper, 0.15-0.45% niobium, and the rest iron with trace elements. These forgings possess excellent mechanical properties, such as tensile strength up to 1310 MPa, yield strength of 1170 MPa, and 10-15% elongation, which mainly depends on the heat treatment condition (H900 to H1150). They possess high hardness (up to 40 HRC) and toughness and superior corrosion resistance compared to standard martensitic grades. It is used extensively in aerospace, chemical, and marine applications due to excellent strength-to-weight ratio and durability.

The ideal temperature range for forging Stainless Steel 17-4PH is 1850°F to 2050°F (1010°C to 1120°C). Post-forging, annealing or solution treating is necessary to achieve optimal properties.
Yes, Stainless Steel 17-4PH forgings can be forged into custom shapes. This alloy offers excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and machinability, making it suitable for precision custom forging applications.
The forging process for Stainless Steel 17-4PH typically takes several hours, including heating, shaping, and cooling. The exact duration depends on part size, complexity, and specific forging techniques used.
Stainless Steel 17-4PH Forgings are used in and across industries where the requirements call for high strength, corrosion, and shock resistance against extreme environments. It is widely used in aerospace structures such as turbine blades, shafts and landing gears; in the chemical/petrochemical industries for valves, pumps and pressure vessels, and in the marine environment for marine structures exposed to the sea water. It is useful when it provides a performance joined with toughness for protection against corrosion in extremely abrasive and rigorous service. Versatility also extends to applications of the product in tooling and instrumentation that are subjected to harsh working conditions but provide greater confidence for a given structural strength.
